Whether you're a long-time fan of Thai food or new to the flavors, this restaurant delivers an exceptional dining experience with both familiar favorites and creative dishes.
The menu features a variety of appetizers, with the Thai Bruschetta standing out for its unique approach. Deep-fried to perfection, it blends chicken, red onion, cucumber, and a tangy chili sauce, making it an excellent start to any meal. Another crowd-pleaser is the Tom Yum soup, a rich and spicy vegetable broth made even more special by the addition of cauliflower, creating a perfect balance of warmth and flavor.
For main courses, Thai Me Upp does not disappoint. The Pad Thai, with its fresh ingredients and beautifully balanced flavors, is a highlight. The dish combines noodles, red onions, peanuts, sprouts, and a savory sauce that’s enhanced by tender chicken, offering a satisfying and well-rounded bite. The Pad Z Ew is another standout, with perfectly cooked noodles, fresh broccoli, and a lighter twist that health-conscious diners will appreciate.
One of the more flavorful dishes is the Panang curry. Additionally, the Basil Eggplant, with its crispy basil and savory onions, might just change the minds of eggplant skeptics.
Mango sticky rice, a popular Thai dessert, is an absolute must-try here. The combination of sweet mango and fragrant jasmine rice provides a perfect finish to the meal.
While the restaurant is still undergoing renovations from its previous sushi spot, its transformation into a Thai dining destination has been a welcome change. With a welcoming ambiance and consistently delicious dishes, Thai Me Upp is quickly becoming a local favorite for those seeking high-quality Thai cuisine with a creative twist.
Thai Me Upp Reviews
Exciting new spot! We were regulars at Midori sushi and were bummed when it closed down. But guess what? It's now a Thai restaurant! This place puts a modern twist on traditional Thai dishes. We started with the Thai Bruschetta - chicken, red onion, cucumber, and chili sauce - but the new twist was that it was deep fried. I was skeptical at first, thinking it might be too heavy, but it was surprisingly light and delicious. It tasted like a fusion of chicken saute in a crispy bite, topped off with some chili sauce. It's a great appetizer or tapa if you're feeling trendy! Then we tried the Tom Yum soup, which came in a large bowl big enough for four people. It's a clear spicy vegetable soup with a twist: cauliflower! The soup definitely warms you up, but the cauliflower was the star for me. I'll definitely be ordering extra next time. Moving on to the Pad Z Ew and basil eggplant with tofu, we quickly realized we ordered too much for just the two of us. I'm a bit of a Pad Z Ew snob, but this version was on point. It was a healthier version with fresh broccoli and perfectly cooked noodles, though I do prefer mine darker with more soy sauce. The Basil Eggplant was a winner with its crispy basil and flavorful onions. The eggplant soaked up all the delicious flavors, creating the perfect bite-sized portion. It's a dish that might change the minds of eggplant skeptics. Oh, and don't forget to save room for dessert - they have mango sticky rice! A must-try if you have a sweet tooth. Overall, a great dining experience with delicious food and unique twists on classic dishes.
Delicious yellow curry with chicken. The side orders (steamed veggies and jasmine rice in particular, were quite good)
The best Thai food I've ever had and I'm a food snob. I've tried a lot of other Thai food places in the area and in Thailand itself and nothing does this justice. I bring everyone who visits me to this place. It is a must! Service has always been great.
best thai food ive ever had and the owner is the sweetest lady 10/10 will always come back whenever in glendale
Amazing food and great prices. Their orders do take some time and looks like they are a bit understaffed .. but the food taste was great.. hope they staff the place up .. I will definitely visit this place again..
Went here with my coworker and the food was amazing. We came here for lunch last min decision. Food came out pretty quick. So delicious! Definitely coming back to try out more of the items on the menu. For my first visit it was great! Service was busy but they stayed on top of it. That spicy fried rice though. So mouth watering. I went in not as hungry but of course when the food is way to good it gets finished.
Great lunch specials. I've tried all of the curries and love them all. Definitely a good spot to visit in the Glendale area.
Food is great, prices are a bit high, and service is OK. I always order to go and don't receive the friendliest service (dining in is a bit small but definitely doable) but I am ordering to go so that's ok. My go to is the drunken noodles but they have great egg rolls and chicken pho as well. Prices are a bit high compared to other thai restaurants but this location is so conveniently close to me I don't mind it. I introduced my boyfriend to thai food and this is one of his favorite restaurants as of late. Will keep returning and recommend to anyone looking for awesome food. The thai tea is also really good here.
Ordered delivery from this restaurant and the food was still super hot and super delicious!! My fiancé and I were amazed at the quality of food. The flavors were impeccable and we couldn't believe how good it was after being delivered. The portions are huge so it fed us twice. It definitely hit the spot. Must try the drunken noodles and pad kaprow chicken with rice.
My husband and I are always on the lookout for new dining spots, so when we heard about this restaurant just a short walk from our home, we had to give it a try. We decided to stick with our usual favorites – calamari, pad thai, and panang curry. The calamari was a delightful surprise, crispy and full of flavor. Served on a unique banana leaf-lined plate with a side of garlic aioli, I was especially impressed to discover a deep-fried lemon slice nestled in the mix. As we finished up the calamari, our steaming hot pad thai arrived at our table. The presentation of the pad thai was absolutely gorgeous, and the taste did not disappoint. Each bite was a perfect blend of noodles, red onions, peanuts, sprouts, green onions, and delectable sauce. The chicken in the dish added another layer of flavor that truly elevated the experience. I tend to steer clear of overly spicy dishes, so I was pleased to find that the panang curry had just the right amount of kick without being overwhelming. The dish was rich, bold, and perfectly balanced, with a surprising touch of yams and tender brisket that melted in my mouth. Although the restaurant is still undergoing renovations from its previous life as a sushi spot, my husband and I are already considering making it our go-to Thai place in the neighborhood. The delicious food and welcoming ambiance have certainly won us over.
